The short answer
After 8pm, most walk-ins are closed. Your options, in order: UPCC (open until 9–10pm) → a few late-night walk-ins → ER (only for real emergencies).
How to check on this site
- Open the map page and use the "Open now" filter to show only clinics currently open
- Sort by closing time to find the latest-closing options
- Tap a clinic card to see tonight's exact closing time
UPCCs are your evening backbone
Most of Greater Vancouver's 19 UPCCs stay open until 9 or 10pm, 2–4 hours later than walk-ins. They handle non-life-threatening issues needing care within 12–24 hours: fevers, cuts needing stitches, minor infections, sprains. Call ahead — UPCCs can also hit capacity in the evening.
If everything is closed
- Not sure how serious it is: call 8-1-1, nurses available 24/7 in 130+ languages
- Clearly urgent (chest pain, trouble breathing, loss of consciousness): go to the ER or call 911
- Uncomfortable but not urgent: get OTC meds at a pharmacy for the night (fever reducers, painkillers), then hit a walk-in first thing in the morning
Save a few evening clinics in advance
Use this site to find 2–3 late-closing clinics near where you live and save them to favourites. When you actually need one at night, you won't be scrambling. Worth saving a UPCC address and phone number too.
